Highlights: We were active with some super fun Thanksgiving projects last week! We worked with shapes in math and just about wrapped up our narrative writing unit. We also had a special All School Meeting on Friday, filled with gratitude for all.
Wellness: Our 7th grade buddies were waiting patiently for us on Tuesday after playing/cheering for the 8th graders vs. staff recess football game (21-21). We are getting to know each other well.
We wrote Thanksgiving cards for you all which we hope the Ks have presented to you by now.
We unveiled the dress ups for choice time!
We were brave and shared some of our narratives and information about our Family Gift Giving at All School Meeting, and again many Ks had very meaningful sharings last week. Check out pix below:
Literacy: We held our “Word School” with Mabel – we taught her how to read a couple of snap words, then we taught each other! Narrative writing is wrapping up – we will continue it for a bit longer after break and then jump into “How-To” informational writing.
Math: We are almost finished with Unit 3 – 2-D Shapes! Below shows one of the cummulative games from the unit called “Fill the Hexagons”, as well as making shapes with clay.
Homework: Reading, ABC book page (please read directions for guidance with this), write a thank you letter to the 8th graders who taught us to tie shoes. Math – Finding Shapes at home!
Gratitude: Thank you Steele, Jordana and Topher for the wonderful, well organized snacks! Thank you to Rita, Clementine’s grandmother, for coming in to help us with music class on Friday. Thanks to parents who stayed to watch All School Meeting on that day as well, and as always thanks to parents for all of the communication with us, the care you give your kiddos and staying to read with us, etc. Thank you to parents for taking a chunk of zucchini to grate over the holiday.
