Calligraphy and Classroom Climate

During the first week of school 3rd and 4th grade students learned the art form of Tibetan Calligraphy from the Monks visiting from the Gaden Shartse Phukhang Monastery.  Students in grades 1-6 have been learning about this art form while practicing brush control and painting techniques.  Grades K-8 have also been working on setting up a classroom climate and establishing routines in the art room.  We are focusing on ART!  A (always do your best), R (respect each other and supplies), T (time for creativity).  In addition we are working on breathing, compassion, patience, listening, and practice.

If you are interested in the specific art unit your child is currently working on in class (or about to begin) scroll down and look at the right sidebar.  Below the calendars there are unit descriptions posted by learning center.
