Want to be happier, right away? Give to others. A Harvard Business school study suggests that giving to others is directly correlated with an increased sense of happiness. It’s true. When we go beyond ourselves and support someone else, we feel great and the world gets just a touch better. This is a message we send to our students. This year ACS kids have raised over $500 for Veterans and over $600 for Huston flood relief. Bam!
In the upcoming weeks the Kindergartners are spearheading another awesome giving project for needy mom’s and babies in our valley. It’s called the Family Visitor Program.
Here’s how it works:
ACS Students will decorate 115 bags. We will fill those bags with donated items from our community. We need: warm hats, gloves, socks, scarves, body wash, bubble bath, shampoo conditioner, moisturizers, nail polish and files, children’s books and stuffed animals. These lovely bags will be delivered to families in need from Aspen to Glenwood. We collect donations until Thursday December 14th.
Let’s do it! It’s about making our valley a kinder place and it will make everyone happier.
