Oreo, Aspen Tree, and El Tioga!

Highlights: This week we hatched a chick! We named him Oreo, and he is a cutie pie! He moved in with more friends at Aspen Tree on Friday.

On Wednesday we had a field trip to Aspen Tree in the morning. We had a great time learning about the lifecycle of a chick and the Grow Dome.

We also had our wonderful mac 7 cheese El Tioga on Wednesday. We had a tremendous turn out!

Literacy: Continuing with end of year assessments. Books are getting more complex. In writing we have begun our next opinion pieces with the topic of the best book they’ve ever read.

Wellness: We have been putting out some small fires lately on our own.

Math: Unit 8 and subtraction has begun!

Science: We have planted seeds to start seedlings that will be planted in our garden soon! Come check them out at the back of the school, and Life cycle of a chick.

Homework: Reading books (the more you read these books at home with a parent, the more fluently your kiddos will read!), thank you letter to Barb the bus driver. Math: 2 subtraction sheets.

Gratitude: Thank you Ita and Lieba for the wonderful snacks! Thank you Lisa Kohlhepp for setting up our field trip this week, and for delivering Oreo to the farm. Thank you Eden and River for giving Oreo a nice home. Thank you Garry, Veronica, and Hilary Forsythe for creating such an amazing musical! HUGE thank you to the parents who made the food for El Tioga, and then served the food. Thank you to Jenny Jones for planning and organizing, and… from far away!!
