Dear ACS Families,

There is plenty going on this time of year!  Please check the school calendar for December events.  We will be gathering new and gently used books and stuffed animals for children.  Soap, shampoo and gloves are appreciated for the parents at the Family Visitor program again this year.  Watch for boxes in the Central Area so you can send in donations.

The Keeling Curve Prize and An Evening with David Breashears:
The Keeling Curve Prize is a global warming solutions project. Each year, we award hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money to projects across the globe that have significant potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions or increase uptake.
We are based in Aspen and gave out the prizes at the Aspen Ideas Festival this year.
To increase awareness of our work locally, we are bringing David Breashears to the Wheeler on December 7th for “Everest to Aspen: The End of Ice”. David will begin the presentation with a short film, and then show images from his time exploring the Himalayas as a mountaineer, filmmaker, and photographer. His presentation will be followed by a discussion of the local impacts of climate change with Jackie Francis, Executive Director of the Keeling Curve Prize, and Mario Molina of Protect Our Winters.
