Introduced this year, 4th graders are working hard on a writing piece that represents their “passage” from elementary school on to 5th grade next year. They will present their passages at the 3rd & 4th grade Author Night on Tuesday, May 23. Today, 8th graders helped their 4th grade friends on these passages, lending their expertise and experience as they prepare for their 8th grade portfolio presentations on May 31.

The Aspen Dance Connection brought Michael & Amanda Lintner to CCS today to demonstrate and teach a style of dance called Capoeira Angola, originating in Africa but brought to Brazil in the 1600s by African slaves. Students from the Marble Charter School also participated. Ask your child to demonstrate some of the moves they learned today!
We are in the middle of PARCC testing, but that hasn’t stopped the 5th graders from heading out today on their annual outdoor education raft trip to float the Colorado River near Moab, Utah.
