Community is so easy to say. The word itself connects us to one another. It seems so simple, so natural, so human. But, community is so much more than a word. Community is a treasured feeling. It is a sense of belonging, safety and caring for each other. It is being yourself without worrying about what others may think or say. The treasured feeling of community comes from our relationships, our shared experiences, and our shared history. As CCS students, families, and staff you are all a part of the CCS community.
One person is not a community. A group of people working together is a community. Together we can lift each other up by appreciating our differences and respecting our shared struggles. Because supporting one another when challenges arise, when things get tough, feels good and strengthens our community. Together we can take responsibility for our community and make sure our people are healthy and happy. Because when we take care of our people, our community grows healthier and happier. And, together we can use the time at school to gain a better understanding of ourselves and our world. Because being lifelong learners enables us to make a positive difference and to ensure that everyone at CCS experiences the treasured feeling of community.
Please join us in celebration of our community on Monday, September 11th for the CCS family barbecue – 5:30-7:00 pm.
