Pakistani Pen Pals visit CCS!

Dear 7/8 parents-
We’re very excited that seven students and six adults from Pakistan, including four previous participants in the Global Kid Connect pen pal program will be visiting CCS this Wednesday!
The timing for this is excellent.  Our students are researching current events tonight so that they can comment upon them tomorrow as they compose their third letter to their pen pals!
Below is our tentative schedule. **Please note that if your child is scheduled to run the mile in PE on Wednesday, that WILL still happen.
Arrival ~10:45
11:00 – 11:45    GKC kids do icebreaker & tour of school with 3/4
11:45- 12:10     Recess with whole school
12:10 – 12:30    Lunch
12:30 – 1:15      Icebreaker/Getting to know you/Cultural Q&A game with 7/8
1:15 – 2:00        GKC kids teach Cricket to 7/8 (We have supplies with which we can                              make do. Cricket bats are soft.)
~15 minutes: GKC kids breaking up to teach 3 groups of skills-                                                             bowling, batting, and fielding.
                         ~30 minutes: 7/8 & GKC kids play a game!
2:00 – 2:45        GKC kids EITHER do Art project with or teach Cricket to 3/4/5  (5th did GKC program last year as well).
In the evening, I believe at 5:00pm, the Pakistanis will participate in a forum in Aspen.  I’ll relate details as I get them.
There will be mews folks here from KDNK, the Sopris Sun and one Aspen newspaper, so check the news on Thursday!
Thanks, Ted
