Hello CCS Parents—We had a productive Village meeting on Wednesday, January 17. These monthly meetings are a terrific way to meet other parents and become more involved with our school community. Please consider attending the next meeting on February 28th. Mark your calendars now!
Sam started off with a Circle Up in which we shared stories of our own school experiences that shaped us in some way. It was a great way to get to know one another a bit better and sparked a discussion of what is important to us as parents for our children’s education.
Social Emotional Learning
Julie Goldstein and Sam shared the results from the Social/Emotional Learning (SEL) survey. Of the 40 families who participated, 90% believe that SEL is an integral part of the educational experience. 82% believe that it is important to have a cohesive SEL approach for all K-8 students, and almost all respondents are interested in enhancing SEL at CCS.
The Social/Emotional committee will meet over the next month to more fully analyze the surveys and form recommendations for increasing and supporting SEL at CCS.
Hoedown Update (Thank you Lisen Richmond for being the CCS liason!)
The Hoedown is quickly approaching on February 17th. This is our biggest and most important fundraiser of the year. You will be receiving emails regarding auction donations, sponsorships and volunteering. Please read them all!
Auction: We are still looking for auction items—some big-ticket items would be great. Anyone have a vacation rental you would be willing to donate for a week?
Sponsorships: Sponsorships make up a large part of the money we raise. If you have a business, please consider sponsoring this event. Not only do you support our school, you get your name out in front of many hundreds of valley residents.
Volunteering: This event requires lots of volunteers! You can give a bit of your time and still have plenty left to enjoy the hoedown. Signups coming in a couple weeks.
