Exploring Soccer, Ice Age Artifacts, and Dogsleds

Highlights: Thanks to Krabloonik owners, Danny and Gina Philips the Ks relished their field trip to the kennel. They enjoyed watching the dogs being harnessed and taking off as well as pretending to be sled dogs. Highlights: On Wednesday, we spent most of the day at ACES discovering new facts about most of the Explorers’ Club topics. The Ks were able to touch pelts, skulls, horns, and if they wanted, a cobra. They watched short videos of coyotes, foxes, owls, and bears that came to Hallam Lake.  They looked at the stuffed wild dogs, cats, and the standing brown bear, the live birds outside, and the bearded dragon. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Highlights: Watching the Ks create special Valentine cards was delightful. After looking at Jim Dine’s hearts, the Ks created their hearts with oil pastels, crayons and watercolors. Inside their cards, they wrote sweet messages. Language Arts: It’s been fun observing what the Ks discovered about their topics. A Short Snowy Week

Highlights: On Wednesday eleven Italian exchange students joined the Ks in the art room. After the twelve and thirteen year old visitors from Abetone chose blueberry muffins, banana bread, apple juice, and oranges, they ate snack and chatted with the Ks.
