Music Overview

  The ACS Music Program implements the LEAD Guitar curriculum through the Orff-Keetman approach. Established by German composer Carl Orff and practiced by German educator Gunild Keetman, this musical education system is based on the importance of singing, moving and playing instruments in order to become a well rounded musician. Musical concepts are learned through speaking, singing, chanting, movement, and the playing of instruments. Welcome Back!

  There are several things to look forward to this year. This summer, I completed my Orff level 3 training. It was a two week graduate class at Metro State in Denver. I am now an officially Orff certified music teacher. The Orff approach takes advantage of the use of playing instruments, singing, moving and playing games in order to become well rounded musicians.
