ACS is starting an advanced art club.  All 5-8 students that are serious about visual art and want to learn new techniques and skills in a variety of 2D and 3D mediums are invited to attend.  The club will have instruction on Tuesdays at lunch. Painting Flowers in the Age of Impressionism

This week the 5th grade class will be visiting the Denver Art Museum during their experiential education trip.  We are lucky to have a docent lead tour of the current exhibition “In Bloom.”  In Bloom explores the development of nineteenth-century French floral still-life painting, and features about 60 paintings by Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, and others.  It is on view through October so take a trip to Denver…

Chihuly sculpture at the Denver Botanic Gardens

Visiting Denver this summer?

Check out the Denver Botanic Gardens temporary exhibit of Deborah Butterfield’s horse sculptures.  I’m headed there with the 5th graders in August.  We saw this Dale Chihuly glass sculpture installation last summer!
